Following the previous two exchange programmes between TWGHs Sun Hoi Directors’ College (SHD) and Anderson Secondary School (ANDE), Singapore, SHD welcomed once again the visit of 28 students and 3 teachers from ANDE on 16th and 17th November. 28 Sun Hoi buddies, selected from Secondary 1 to 5, first accompanied their Singaporean friends on an educational trip at Tung Wah Museum, organized by Ms Stella See, Head of Records and Heritage Office to know more about the history and charity work provided by Tung Wah.
Students from SHD and ANDE interacted through various sports activities, such as cycling, archery and rock-climbing. The Andersonians also attended lessons with their buddies. They cooked a 3-course meal together in Technology and Living Lesson; in Physical Education, they experienced Sun Hoi PE culture by competing in a long-distance running race under the fierce sun, participating in hockey training and tag rugby; and in Science, the students were given a chance to touch and observe earthworms.
Sun Hoi students have gained lifelong friendships and they have had a new-found appreciation of different cultures and ethnic groups since the students of ANDE are not only Chinese, but also Malay, Indian, etc.
The Experience Exchange Days successfully create a strong tie between Sun Hoi and Anderson Secondary School. Sun Hoi is expecting the arrival of Andersonian choristers next year.
Teachers and students from Anderson Secondary School were given a guided tour by the Head of Records and Heritage Office, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.
