With tremendous courage and determination, the handball team of TWGHs Sun Hoi Directors’ College claimed the boys’ title in the Bonaqua All – Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Tournament on 15th February, 2015, the very first time ever for the team of handball players.
The robust team of teenage players of Secondary 4 to 6 performed skillfully and conscientiously to stun the spectators. They defeated their opponents in tough battles including the highly competitive team from Ho Lap College (sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen) in the final to become the champions of the tournament.
The school is proud to announce that the whole team, plus its coach, are solely ‘Made in Sun Hoi’. The team’s coach, Ho Yui-cheong who led the team to its road of victory, is a former student of Sun Hoi and a past handball team member. All players of the handball team believed that the key to this historic triumph relied heavily on their rapport and they expressed enthusiastically that they won the champion by putting the team’s success ahead of individual glory.
A heartfelt thanks was given to the unconditional support and encouragement of a large group of Sun Hoi schoolmates, alumni, as well as teachers and Principal who travelled all the way from Tuen Mun to Tseung Kwan O to witness the success of the handball team. A perfect conclusion was drawn to the competition when Sun Hoi student Cheung Chun-kit of Secondary 4 successfully clinched the Most Valuable Player Award of the competition.
