Our debating team consisting of Secondary 4 students participated in the EMI section of the debating contest organised by Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union (HKPTU) on 10th December 2018. The motion was “Land reclamation is the best solution to Hong Kong’s housing crisis”. As the affirmative side, the team believed reclamation could provide sufficient land supply in response to the housing needs of the Hong Kong citizens. All our participants Lavin Wong (the first speaker), Victoria Chan (the second speaker) and Nick Batdee (the third speaker) demonstrated confidence in proposing their team case and questioning the opponents’ arguments. Their performance was highly appreciated by the adjudicator and the negative team.
We are looking forward to upcoming competitions and hope our team shine.
