10 S5 students, including Lui Chung Yin, Chan Wai To, Kong Shuk Kwan, Wong Yuk Man, Choi Chun Wai, Tsoi Tsz Hong, Cheung Chun Ki, Chu Sik Yeung, Chan Tsz Lok and Cheng Lee Lee, actively participated in the “I am a Funeral Director” experiencing program organized by TWGHs International Funeral Parlour and Diamond Hill Parlour during summer vacation and awarded certificates.
Aiming at letting the teenagers to learn more about characteristics of funerals of various religions and the hidden meaning of different funerals through mock funerals, the program helped the participants to build up a positive attitude towards life and death like respecting life.
Our students have participated in The Asia International Mathematical Olympiad Open Contest 2016 (Final) and were awarded two Bronze Honors and two Merit Awards.
Organized by the Asia International Mathematical Olympiad Union and its local committees, the Contest attracted representatives from all Asian countries. With remarkable achievements in the local 'Qualifying Round', 4 students from our school are selected as the Hong Kong representatives and took part in the Final Contest in August. All participants made every endeavor to win in the contest. They have shown their talent in the Contest and won the following awards:
Congratulations to our school being awarded Silver Prize in QEF Thematic Network on Student Support (QTN), many thanks to 2 students 6A Ko Hang Man and 6A Cheng Ka Ki for paying effort in preparing the proposal together with relevant materials. The scheme aims at helping schools to promote the concept of correct use of internet. Our school is also one of the “Participated Schools” in 2016/17, and we will organize several talks and workshops for parents and teachers in near future.
Our S5 students participated in the Public Opinion Workshop organized by the Centre for Social Policy Studies in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University during summer holiday. Students performed very well in the one-month training course and obtained the following prizes:
Sun Hoi was awarded 'Most Active Involvement Award – Intermediate Division' in 'A Letter to My Family' SHKP Book Review Competition 2016 organised by SHKP Reading Club.
With more than 500 Sun Hoi students taking part in the 'A Letter to My Family' SHKP Book Review Competition and offering reviews of inspiring books in the format of a personal letter to their families, Sun Hoi has won the ‘Most Active Involvement Award- Intermediate Division’.
During March and May 2016, RTHK eTV online organized the 10th to 12th “Liberal Studies Writing Competition” and received nearly 3,500 entries. LUI Hoi Ying from 5B was one of the awardees of “Monthly Outstanding Works” in the group of Senior Secondary.
Our students enthusiastically participated in the Writing Competition throughout the year. In season three (the 7th – 9th), 427 students were awarded gold medals, 24 students were awarded silver medals and 112 students were awarded Certificates of Participation. Congratulations to all the awardees
