During March and May 2016, RTHK eTV online organized the 10th to 12th “Liberal Studies Writing Competition” and received nearly 3,500 entries. LUI Hoi Ying from 5B was one of the awardees of “Monthly Outstanding Works” in the group of Senior Secondary.
Our students enthusiastically participated in the Writing Competition throughout the year. In season three (the 7th – 9th), 427 students were awarded gold medals, 24 students were awarded silver medals and 112 students were awarded Certificates of Participation. Congratulations to all the awardees
Two teams participated in the Inter-school IT Elite Challenge 2016 coorganized by EDB and Hong Kong Association for computer Education in March this year.
One team (team members: 5A Lee Ho Yin, 5A Sin Ho Sang, 5B Chan Chin Ki) entered the top twenty rank in the competition (secondary school); while other team (5A Chan Kam Sang, 5A Cheung Man Chung and 5A Chow Ho Man) was awarded certificates of participation.
To generate Sun Hoi students’interest in learning digital coding and enhancing education in coding. 6 committee members of the Computer Club were invited to join Microsoft TouchDevelop Digital Coding (Primary and Secondary) Competition on 19th March 2016.

In May, the Guidance Unit joined the "I'm with You" Award Scheme of the Home-School Cooperation Committee. The Scheme aims to recognize students/parents/teachers who have remarkable achievements in helping schoolmates/children/students overcome difficulties, enhancing positive thinking and resiliency or fostering a caring school culture in 2015/16 school year. It is delighted to announce that the following groups/ students/ parent have received commendation certificates from the Committee for their efforts in creating a caring school culture in this Scheme.
Sun Hoi Directors' College was honoured to be invited to participate in Harvard Book Prize Award 2016 in March. Priscilla Poon of 4A was awarded‘Winner’,Queenie Leung of 4A and Gretal Lai of 4B were awarded‘Runners-up’.They attended Harvard Book Prize Award Ceremony held at La Salle College in Kowloon Tong on 27th May, 2016.
2016 Asia International Mathematical Olympiad Open Contest (Junior - Qualifying Round) (AIMO) has been finished on 15th May 2016. To nurture students’ interest in Mathematics and broaden students' horizons, our school has sent nine students to take part in the Contest and win 6 Bronze Awards. Congratulations to all our winners!
